From WSJ, on 9/11

Robert Bartley wrote an open letter to a friend, explaining his position with respect to 9/11 and how its aftermath in the US is different from the European perspective.

Remember the fire station on Middagh Street, a couple of blocks behind the church? That houses Engine 205/Ladder 118, whose men raced over the Brooklyn Bridge to respond. Eight firefighters from the station were lost. One was fatally injured when he was hit by a jumper, someone driven to leap off the burning building.
If this is true (which is not impossible, although sounds like an urban legend)... I cannot comment this.
