More on perceptions

Happened in the USA. Description is not first-hand, I was told how it happened by other people.

Case one. A student of comparative religion brings Koran in an airplane but does not take it out of his bag because he is afraid of the potential reaction of fellow passengers.

Case two. An (allegedly) innocent woman accused of hiring a killer to murder her husband, instead of pleading innocent, cuts a deal in which she gets 20 years behind bars but avoids facing the trial by jury. She thinks that the locals do not like her for her liberal views and progressive looks and so the jury would send her to the gallows.

Very interesting. Both cases.
